Location

  • Ironbark Energy’s Gunnedah Solar Farm (GSF) is located 4.5km west of Gunnedah, off the Oxley Highway, in northern New South Wales.
  • During the site selection process, numerous locations across Australia were identified and assessed for their development potential. Gunnedah, located in the heart of the Liverpool Plains region of NSW, was identified as an ideal location for Industrial investment.
  • The site was selected due to many factors, including the high levels of solar radiation experienced in the area, the large amount of flat land available and the site’s proximity to the national electricity grid.
  • The close proximity to strong transmission infrastructure in Gunnedah, makes connectivity of the plant feasible while minimising the impact on the natural environment.
  • Ironbark’s aim is to create and distribute clean renewable energy as cost effectively as possible and choosing the Gunnedah Site allows us to do this.
